Recently bought HL2 and after installing it it gave me a message saying my driver was out of date. I've checked ati's site and they say check my laptop's manufacturer's site and I have, I have the latest one form there. Anyone know where I can get the latest driver?
 
Use the Omega drivers available at www.omegadrivers.net

Also, you can try using the Mobile Mod program to mod ATI's Catalyst drivers yourself to function with your mobile chipset.

I use the Omegas on my 9600 notebook.
 
Ok, thank you for that site, I downloaded the new catalyst already, has anyone tried the 4.11 version yet? Should I get that one or stick with 4.10?

Think I need to get a reg cleaner or driver cleaner after I install the new catalyst to clean up after it?
 
ok, the omega drivers worked fine, installed them rebooted and all, played HL2 fine. Now today I tried to play HL2 after 2 days of doing nothing with the laptop, and it gives me a shading error box with the only option to click "ok". This happens just before the games loads and while you still see the windows background. I click ok and it doesn't do anything, like it cancels the game from loading. Worked fine before so what's up now? I'm on my rollback driver now, works fine?
