The ONLY thing I can think of is the somewhat laggy TF2 which has a patch awaiting MS cert.

I've never had so much fun or gotten so much value out of 1 game purchase.

Just the fact that it is based on 2 major characters that go through the game together but has no online coop puts me off. It only has local coop.

Oh, really? That's a huge letdown.

I just read about the multiplayer mode, though, which sounds interesting but probably will be completely chaotic. Everyone starts off on the same team vs. AI, but can betray teammates to get a bigger cut of cash, which in turn affects your ranking (more cash = better ranking).

If they don't even have online co-op, then something tells me the multiplayer mode is probably going to be a little on the shallow side. Local co-op is worthless to me.

Nilla, they basically cut out the online coop simply because they wanted to meet their release date instead of suffer a delay. Honestly, even though Army of Two was delayed, I have more respect for EA because of it... if its not ready, its not ready.

I agree, especially for this game since it's basically made for co-op. This is just like Blacksite basically dropping core gameplay components just so it can make its holiday release. I can wait, especially with all of the other options this fall/winter. Nobody wants half-assed garbage.

Honestly, I've always hated how the summer generally sees no good games (or any games) released, and everyone tries to shoot for the holidays. Set a realistic timetable and release it when it's done. If it's a quality title you shouldn't have problems selling it. What's wrong with the summer anyway? School's out, college students are back home, and they have 3-4 months to spend playing video games.

IMO HL2 - Episode 2 is good, not great, TF2 is laggy as hell, and Portal is very short. I like the game a lot, but wouldn't give it more than 9.5. Of the premium titles so far this year, I would rate Bioshock a 10, Orange Box a 9.5, and Halo 3 a 9.0.

I think the Orange Box getting a 9.5 and CoD4 getting a 10 is what stands out even more. I will be extremely surprised if CoD4 gives more/better gaming than OrangeBox did. Time will tell, but it's a bet I'd be willing to make.

And Kane and Lynch may be an 8 but I'll still get it. The Hitman series was never top of the charts either, but that didn't stop it from being one of the series I enjoyed a ton.
