latest NVIDIA drivers = bluescreenfest 2011

Hi all. Is it just me, or are the most recent drivers (275.33) from NVIDIA rather unstable?
I'm running Windows 7 Professional x64, 4 GB RAM, 2 x XFX Geforce 7950 GT xtremes in SLI mode, and an AMD x2 4600. I usually run my games at 1920x1200 on my old Dell LCD panel.
Before the July driver release, I had to use an older driver (I think 197 series) to get rid of weird texture and shadow artifacting / tearing in Mass Effect 2. The release before the latest drivers at least allowed me to run all my games. This new release has caused outright blue screens on a number of game launchings. Left 4 Dead 2 = blue screen. Mass Effect 2 = blue screen. Starcraft II = flickering shadows (same as previous versions). Team Fortress 2 = black triangles / poly rendering errors on med-packs.
I find it odd that Team Fortress 2 would run, but that Left 4 Dead 2 now blue screens (since I thought they were both Source games).
I'm guessing NVIDIA just doesn't care about those of us with limited budgets and older graphics solutions, but it's still surprising to see a company release a driver that seems so unstable.
Any thoughts / suggestions / knowledge of possible fixes?
Yes, I selected the "delete previous drivers" under the custom install options.

Last few driver releases from nvidia have been total trash.

I am still using 270.61. Anything newer introduces serious SLI issues, performance issues in Crysis 2 and Witcher 2 and outright graphics corruption in some games (wow & stalker).

I would give the 270.61 release a try, they are working fine for me.

Something is inherently WRONG with these frikin cards. Even with EVERYTHING at stock settings my 460 blue screens my computer once in a rare blue moon. A buddy of mine has an Intel i5 setup with a 470 and the same issue.

Fook yoo nvidya, for fookin me in the azz on my 3AHD INAVESATAMENT.

I wouldn't use new drivers on a 7950GT setup. I doubt cards that old are a priority for Nvidia. I haven't had any blue screens from drivers in a very long time. I am using 275.27

There is a beta 275.50 over at nvidia. 275.33 has a lot of problems if you search the nvidia forums, they wouldn't even install for me so I'm with 266.58.

That can't be right!! There are never any problems with nV drivers. nVidia drivers are perfect!! Written by God himself!! 😛

I haven't had any issues with them so far. I only installed them earlier this week finally, but have been folding on them and played some Fable 3 and so far so good.
