Latest News on AMD

uhh... you're joking right?

have you read any of the threads in this forum?

why don't you try reading and you'll see what the new craze is...

^ he means the amd athlon 64 processors are the current ''must have'' cpu! A lot better than the intel equivelents, at the moment, and a good improvement over the athlon XP, with great new technologies.

Yeah, no kidding. That's what the search function is for. BTW, the current buzz from AMD is the new "Venice" cored Athlon 64, as well as the new "Turion64" mobile platform. If you want more info than that, search. Its really not that hard 😉 .

Does he mean the lack of reviews for the dual core AMD chips. I mean five, come on, it isn't surprising that someone might have missed it. After all, Intel's dual core crap chips got at least twenty reviews.

I suspect that there was a lot of Intel marketing money (and new web servers) flowing around the world to cover for the massive a$$ kicking that their chips recieved.

Now hot off the press and coming to a retail store near you: MMX technology by Intel! Buy now while supplies last!

But but you can get performance that's almost as good as their single core chips for only an extra hundred dollars or so plus a motherboard upgrade! What a steal!!!!

have you even looked at the multitasking benchmarks? imo, these are the most like real-world benchmarks.

They are only the most real-world benchmarks if you multitask a LOT. I've got a Athlon 64 (single core, of course) and its been fine with me for the multitasking I do, which is 5-10 firefox tabbs, outlook, iTunes, IM, and Seti@Home.

well, if you did read around (literally) you'd find plenty of stuff, here's a quickie little piece to give you an idea where AMD was, is (and heading), and why IMO bigger isn't better, its how you develop your package...😛
