EDIT: Alright, let's start over. What kind of jeans are you wearing lately? Why do you like them? Would you recommend them to other people? (and yes, I know I should get what I like, but let's imagine I like to hear people's experiences/opinions)

OLD: I'm looking into buying a few good pairs of jeans. What is, from your experience, the best styles and brands? I'm looking at the websites for Gap, Old Navy, etc. and it doesn't really explain what Boot-Fit is and stuff like that. I'm guessing Boot-Fit is a popular style now?

The best pair of jeans I've bought in recent memory was a pair of Gap boot cut jeans. Super comfortable and they fit right.

im not sure what's "in" but boot-cut jeans are straight leg and they taper out a bit at then end to go over your shoes/boots. doesnt really matter though, just wear what you like

I got myself two pairs of Express light-denim relaxed cut jeans, it's comfortable and not too heavy to carry around my luggage when traveling.

Despite Amish's remark, some of us do care what brand of clothing we wear.

Personally, I like Polo Jeans Co. Old Navy jeans don't fit all that well on me, for whatever reason. Go to a real life store and ask one of the girls there to help you.

Boot Fit jeans are cut narrow in the hips and flare at the shin so that boots fit under them. If you're used to relaxed fit jeans, it's a good idea to buy them a size larger if you like a little room for your boys to breathe! Personally, I buy Gap and Banana Republic jeans, but I also have a few pairs of Diesel jeans from a sample sale my gf dragged me to. I also have a pair of DKNY jeans that look good, but I don't like the denim, it's too stiff. Oh, and I don't know if Gap still sells them, but I got a couple of pairs of their 1969 jeans...they're the best jeans ever made. They were like $80 originally, but I got them for around $20 on clearance. They're really comfortable!

Everyone will point and laugh at you unless you buy those $150 Diesels...

I buy jeans at Wal-Mart since I don't give a rat's dupa about what jeans look like. Jeans in my opinion are for working in the yard or on your car, resurfacing a driveway or slinging cow manure. There should be no fashion to jeans.

ass-tights. ;) hehe...yeah, boot cut's good...depends on how much you want to spend on your jeans. I wasn't entirely kidding when I said ass-tights, as even mens jeans are supposed to make your ass look good. Depending on what type of build you have, that'll dictate the jean, obviously. If you're in good shape, Express has some jeans that are boot cut (slimmer leg, not so baggy) and lower on the hips...good to wear to a club or a date.

Other than that, just try them all on and see what you like. I suggest bringing a woman as well, as your tastes and hers are different...and assuming that you're looking for a girl, their opinions are what matter. :)

If you aren't sure what type of jeans you want. Go to a store or mall for that matter, and try them on.

If you like how they fit, buy them.

Costco's Kirkland jeans. They're comfortable, well-made, and only like 13 bucks or something like that.

BD = stylin'

What he said.

I tend to stick to Lee or Levis 'cause those brands usually have a cut that fit me and they are usually on sale at Kohl's. :) I'd stay away from trendy looking jeans 'cause once the trend is over (usually a year or two) you can't wear them anymore w/o looking like a dumb@ss.

You gotta get bootcut. That's the only prerequisite.

American Eagle and some other places have "boot flares" for men which in my opinion are a biiiig no.

Make sure you get a wash that you like, but it shouldn't be too bright of a blue (see: Wranglers).

My favorite pair of jeans are Gap 1969 bootcuts that I found at a thrift store.. they're usually $100. I also have Express jeans which are nice. If you want jeans, go to Macy's or another department store and get Levis (Or silvertab if you want baggy). Like I said, just make sure they're bootcut. The worst fashion mistake you can possible make is buy TAPERED pants of any form. You can usually get a good pair of Levis for under $40.

I like Levi's because they originated from my hometown. I like diesel jeans too, but I got these on sale. Never would have bought them full price.
