I'm currently running 23.11 from nvidia's website.
I have Gaindward Geforce3 vid card and was wondering whats the latest drivers that give best performance right now. (I've been out of the loop for awhile)

I was using those also until I got my G4, they are up to 27.70 but have heard some say they are slow.

I follow the guide to upgrading the video driver and it always asks me to insert a disk? What am I doing wrong?

I like the 27.52's for WinXP, 27.50's for Win9x.

When it asks, choose browse and point to the directory with the new unzipped drivers, usually something like...c:\unzipped\Win9x-2*.**

Drivers, get your fresh hot drivers here.....

Try and see if you like them. Like I said, I like the 27.52's on my system (WinXP). Make sure to download the nvrefreshfix. You might also try either NVmax or RivaTuner 2.0 RC10, they are good tweak utilities.

Good luck:)

I can seem to only run 27.42's stable under Windows XP

BTW, you may want to try MultiRes. It locks refresh rates and it is at the PowerStrip Website.

I do that, and sometimes it doesn't see the file 'NV4- .inf', all the other times it tells me 'insert compact disc labeled 'NVIDIA windows 2000/XP Driver Library Installation Disk 1' into your cdrom (even though I point it to the new driver I just downloaded and unzipped on my c drive)

grrrr
