The new betas fixed my stuttering in UT2004, and I've read other reports of them fixing the problem as well.

I think that it?s about time that some Mod makes this a sticky. This has been of great help to many. Since I got my new 24? monitor about a month ago I had issues @1920x1200. Most games and apps would run ok but then some others would cause my system to crash. Hell, I couldn?t even complete 3DMark05/06, not that it matters but you get the picture. Everything?s been working fine since the 175.80 beta found in this very thread.

Good job jaredpace keep it up.

The problem with stickies is that too many and people become numb to them. So while this is a very good thread, we're going to have to pass on making it sticky.

Hello Mr ViRGE,

I understand your point but would you consider starting a thread that will cover both ATI & nVidia drivers? Or convert this thread to cover both? ATI & nVIDIA make for more than 90% of what people are using nowdays (speaking only of discrete VGA cards) and a thread that will cover driver development from both will be of great help to many many people especially since many of the problems that people experience are driver related. I think that a ?global? driver thread will justify the space it will occupy in the forums. Still, that?s your call and personally I?ll respect any decision you make on this.

While I generally think a stickied thread would be helpful, I just can't justify it. Stickies are something we use rarely, either to forcefully clean up something that causes many topics or to give everyone a generic warning so that we can vacation them sooner:evil:. Drivers don't really fall in to either category, it would just add more clutter and numbness to the forum at a time when we already have 4 more stickies than we'd like. I know the matter of stickies seems trite to you, but they can cause a lot of grief for the mods, especially in number.

I'm going to have to decline your request again. You guys seem to be doing rather well as-is.

That is true. I have seen forums where there were easily 10+ stickies, they were all USEFUL, but it was too much.

But then again, we don't really post in this thread that often, so it can easily fall down.

I bump it every time it's edited. You guys can help out and bump it when it falls a few pages. Thanks for the 177.35 inf link, taltamir!

yea, it would be nice to get them directly from nvidia instead of leaked from 3rd parties...
Would be nicer if they SAID what was fixed, so we would know if we should bother with each build.
I don't see it happening though...

Anyways, I just set it to email me when a post is made here... anyone interested can do the same when they see this thread come up.

I'm on the 177.39 for some hours now. I've used the modified inf for the 177.35 (thanks taltamir) and it worked just fine with the 177.39.

The driver installation was smooth and everything is working fine. 3DMark06 scores the same as with the 177.35 but somehow I don't get the same feeling. Somehow this driver seems a bit worse than the 177.35. I've noticed a lot of microsttuter with this one. Anyone else seen any difference?

I guess that I'll have to wait until nVidia releases some driver that will feature physx support for the 8 series cards.

check http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/
They are currently working on inf for the 177.39 specifically. Sure you could technically install them with an older inf, but it might be the source of your problems (or it might be completely unrelated :p)

They are also working on instructions on how to get physX working.

That is weird... I think I have physX on my 8800GTS 512...
The 177.35 drivers ARE supposedly with CUDA integrated...
and when I downloaded and installed the new v 8.6.12 version of physX it selected "GeForce PhysX" just like in the pictures... and I can render the demos fine...

Same here. I've also seen your other thread on this.
It seems that physX is working on my rig too but only with the 177.35
