Has anyone with this board tried this bios update? I believe the version # is 2205. Is it mainly important just for upgrading to the new 5th. Gen. processors or, is there benefits for the 4th. Gen. 4790k also? Thanks! :)

I'm sticking with what I have. I don't need any of the new features, and well, if it ain't broke.... I don't want to have to redo my OC profiles anyway.

I recently updated an asus Z87 to accept 4th gen intel. It was a bit tricky because you must know the Asus specific mobo name. bios flashback worked well once I had that sorted.

Unless you are trying to get CPU support for 5th gen I wouldn't bother.

You should log into asus and get the latest bios file for your specific board. I use the flash utility in ai suite 3 and the bios ez flash to accomplish the task.

I went ahead and updated the bios from 2012 to 2205 a few minutes ago and so far, everything seems to be working fine. Thanks folks! :)
