There's already a discussion going..

And Boise State doesn't need to be 12th. As long as they are ranked within the top 16 and one of the major conference's champion is ranked below them, they are in. Wake is #16 and GaTech is #18 this week.

Say Boise State were ranked 13, 14, or 15. I think that the pollsters would rank the ACC champ higher just so they could try to kick Boise State out of the BCS. That'll be some conspiracy.

I doubt that the voters in the coaches poll even know that this loophole exists.

ND has played some pretty mediocre football and had to have their asses saved by inept defense on multiple occasions, same with Florida this week.

Both should be lower compared to USC who dominated another ranked opponent this week.

I'm really rooting hard for Rutgers though!

Why did you put exclamation marks next to USC and Rutgers?
Probably because they made very large jumps.
Notre Dame jumped 4 spots. Arkansas jumped 4.

USC leapfrogged Florida. Rutgers jumped 7 spots.

well, Florida... just barely beat an unranked opponent

Yah but it's Spurrier. Too bad they can't add a 'level of mystique!' to the computer rankings. :p

And let's not forget this. USC actually LOST to an unranked opponent.

Yep, if you could somehow move the USC/Oregon State game to this week and the Florida/South Carolina game to two weeks ago, their rankings would be reversed. The BCS has a short memory span.

Very, and Cal dropped more spots than USC did when it lost. Anyways.... So what does this mean. Does USC have a shot at the championship meaning Cal still has a Rose Bowl chance? I dunno.

This year having 1 loss isn't going to hurt you that much as far as a national championship goes, as long as you keep on rolling afterwards. However, Cal now how 2 losses which is enough to knock them out of the Championship picture. The USC vs. Cal game will be fought over the rose bowl for cal and over the national championship for USC. Cal will still win the Pac 10 title as long as they defeat USC.
