OCing 3200+ 90nm on Asus A8NSLI Dlx right now. Using Mushkin Basic Green 1 T, 2.5-3-3-7 @ 219MHz, 2.75v Getting 2.63 GHZ stock HSF with AS 5. Stable all benches and Prime. 1.456v to CPU (this Mobo/Bios has VCore setting issues). Max 45C@ CPU.

2.65@ 1.456v runs Sandra and all 3DMarks but fails Prime @ 1.456v.

2.65 GHz (RAM 220) and 2.70 (RAM 225) both @ 1.585v give me low voltage warning on 12v rail during benches but runs benches OK. Temp 50C Max, 33C Idle.

2.75GHz @1.585 (RAM @ 229MHz) boots to XP, runs Sandra, but crashes benches. (Got a nice CPU-Z screenshot).

CPU is CBBHD 0447 UPCW.

Think that a better PSU can get me stable at 2.7 GHz.
Not bad for the bucks.

waht psu do you have???
it may help with stablity and if the cpu is not getting it s full vcore under load....

my week 44..will do prime95 at 2550 1.55/1.57idle/1.58 load but dies at 2600 with vcore 1.6idle /1.63 load....I have not tried 1.65v plus volts

with that said I can game etc at 2600 but not Prime 95 stable

I had an Antec 480 true power(got a new one on RMA) die and got OCZ 520 Powerstream....I love this PSU...much more stable rails....even seem to cool my case a bit bette rthan the Antec

Generic 350 PSU (says 22A on 12v but I doubt it). I'm going for the Antec Neopower 480.

2.6 was no prob and completely stable. The trouble w/ this Mobo/BIOS (1003-005 and 006) right now seems to be a jump from 1.46v or so to 1.59v when I change the BIOS CPU voltage from 1.5625v to 1.575v. Clockgen doesn't have any effect. I think it's the MOBO, but I'll swap PSUs in a couple of days and see if that affects this problem.

The Neopower is nice but also look at Seasonic 460w and do consider the 520w OCZ powerstream(I believe they also have a 520w modstream..like the neopower)...the Powerstream has a 5yr warranty...If I recall the 12v was like 33A...it comes with 2 sata, 2 separate and specially sheilded 4 pin HDD/VGA, 1 pci-express and nice number of 4pin(total of 6)

BTW the Seasonic 460w are very quiet and supposedly like the OCZ 520w a underrated..cost are very similar to NeoPower

It seems the week 44s I have seen are topping near 2550...sucks..I got from mwave right before xmas...I never seem to sweet one like you have...great o/c and low vcore needs....

your chip with a good cpu may hit 2700 if it is a voltage and not cpu limit issue

Thanks for the info - the OCZ also looks good.

I'm surprised at the good temps and low voltage needed to OC this on air w/stock HSF. My old TBirds, Palominos, and Barton 2500+ all needed a lot more VCore and put out a LOT more heat. I think the CPU heatspreader and the larger HS contact area are a big help.

I do think 2700 is possible with better power, but I may still have the VCore setting issue to deal with...
