Late night bad beat thread... Have to share this with SOMEONE

PokerStars $0.50/1.00, I'm on the button holding KK.

Everyone folds to me, I raise.

SB re-raises, BB folds, I cap.

Flop comes JKJ for a nice pretty boat for me.

We proceed to cap every betting round (useless cards on turn & river) & he turns over JJ & says "I thought you were stealing."

I think that's the third time I've seen flopped quads in 35K hands so I feel perfectly OK with paying him off but holy sh!t that stung.

I was on the other side of that once with QQ in heads up after 9 players eliminated.

Flop comes QAQ. He goes all in and I call. Turn and river were nothing.

He had AA.

are the later caps considered bad since you know there is good possibility of JJ out there?

His possible hands:

AA: he wouldn't reraise in the later rounds, J in your hand will trump him.
AK: same as above
(A,K,Q)J: wouldn't reraise you to start
JJ: he busts you

No idea what any of that meant.

we'll just listen to the flop and ignore the turn and river

if you ever play Poker, you usually have 5 cards to make a hand

the flop (3 cards) JKJ (Jack, King, Jack)

Viper had KK (2 Kings) and what you do is you combine your hand (2 cards) and the flop (3 cards) to make a five card hand (in this case, it was KKJKJ = Full House with King High = 3 Kings, 2 Jacks)

The other guy had JJ (2 Jacks) which gave him JJJKJ = 4 of a kind Jack High

that beats a full house

Viper's played more than 35,000 hands, and this is one of the fewest times that something like this could ever happen

Putting someone on quads with only two on board would be serious paranoia.

He thought I was blind stealing so his range of hands would be MUCH broader, I knew he had at least one jack, maybe even KJ. Both of which I could handle obviously.
