As the person making the outrageous claim the burden of proof is on you.

BMW sold the 318ti hatchback with a 1.8L 4 cylinder which I imagine is slower than the Z3 in question. Not to mention the whole host of smaller engines manufactured for Europe through the 80's and 90's.

well i am not proving anything as I really don't care 😛
but the car is SLOW and that is my final answer!

By the way, if you checkout the Top Gear (November 2nd, 2003 episode) that I was talking about they have a comparison between the S2000, Porsche Boxster, and Z4 3.0 ... The S2000 comes in 3rd place on the track times, but if you look they're all within less than 1 second of each other. You'll also hear Jeremy Clarkson rave about the car in general. Always gets my adrenaline pumping and makes me want to go out and drive the car 😉

The BitTorrent site I had with Top Gear episodes on it is gone, but if you look around you can probably find it. The filename is "Top Gear - 2003.11.02.avi"

Well, I knew when I posted that, that cars pre mid 90's and before would probably automatically be slower, but if you compare that car with an modern BM, it's one of the slowest in the lineup... but you gotta admit, if the times are true,. 16 seconds is so brutal for a BMW... but that's just what I think 😛
