Latch on SLK3700 BQE won't stay closed

I have an Antec SLK3700-BQE which utilizes the latch/push button system of keeping the side panel on and the bottom latch will not click shut. The top latch closes fine, but it's the bottom one that refuses to click into place. If I continually apply pressure to the latch, it will hold in place but I can feel the resistence. As soon as I release the latch, it pops back out.

It's not a matter of not pressing hard enough - very little pressure is needed to close the top latch.

If I remove the panel from the case and just push the latch in it closes with no difficulty.

My guess is that the steel lip of the frame is blocking the plastic "hook" from reaching it's finishing position. I've tried bending the steel to accommodate the latch better, but I've been unsuccessful so far.

If anyone has had a similar problem, I would be very grateful for any suggestions or better, any solutions.

Thanks!

If you've got some free time and can't figure it out, try removing the latch from the side panel.

That should leave a small hole and if you put the panel on, you may be able to take note of something blocking it.

Sorry I can't help much more than that, but good luck.

Are you sure the door's not hitting something protruding from the face of one of your 5.25" drives, like the knobs and switches of a Fan Controller or something like that?

It's not the door on the front, it's the side panel.

I noticed the same problem with that case, I wasn't able to figure out why it wouldn't stay latched. Just built 5 servers using that case and the last one had that problem, though I finally got it to stay latched. It's almost like a piece of the "cam" broke/wore off, but I'd only opened the side a couple of times...🙁
