I was checking lyrics to a song and came across "enmity". I didn't have a clue what it meant so I looked it up. I get annoyed when I don't know or can't derive at least a shred of a word's meaning...

According to dictionary.com it means:

"a feeling or condition of hostility; hatred; ill will; animosity; antagonism"

Do you remember the last word you looked up?

I looked up "SWIVEL" at urbandictionary.com

"The 22-year-old Brit then swore at Dennis over the team radio, blasting: "Don't ever f****** do that to me again"," reported both News of the World and The Sunday Times.

"Dennis hit back, blasting: "Don't ever f****** speak to me like that."

But Hamilton responded: "Go f****** swivel."

it means:

To stick a defined object up your rectum and spin upon it.
or
The sweat above one's upper lip or in the pubic area. Also found in between the breasts.
or
the sweat from ones scrotum

usage: if you dont know who Lewis Hamilton is .. go F swivel urself :D

I can't spell and that conflicts with posting a lot. Thus, I search dictionaries constantly. On average, I post 3-4 posts before I have to look up a word to spell it.

Sure, I could turn on a spell checker. However, I hope (maybe in vain) that actually looking it up will help me remember the proper spelling. My last search: maneuver. Sure, I know what it means, but I damn well couldn't figure out how to spell it in a way that looked correct.

I can't remember the last time I looked up a word. I'd say about a month ago, but I couldn't tell you which word.

I looked up "muse" at M-W.com this morning. I had an idea of what it meant but wasn't exactly sure.

'naught,' but only to show my boss that using it and not 'not' was the correct form for what i was doing.

Was your effort for naught?
