what was the last sp for 2000 pro ?

is it downloadable ?

can the sp disk be ordered from MS

any links that anyone is aware of ?

There's also a Post-SP4 Update Rollup containing a partial bundle of the post-SP4 updates. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/891861/ Other suggested updates for Win2000:

IE6 SP1
Windows Media Player 9
DirectX 9.0C

But even with the Update Rollup 1, you're still looking at about 70 other updates in several stages, so make sure you have plenty of snacks and possibly a good movie to watch 😀

I have several machines on my LAN still running flawlessly under W2K Pro.

All you have to do is download:

AutoPatcher 2000 August 2007 Core Release & Update and...

AutoPatcher Addons - August 2007

Install them both -> run AutoPatcher -> then Windows Update. That's it!

Bada bing, bada boom!

This is actually preferable to going through all the usual non-sense... does a better update than WU by itself, or manual downloads, yada, yada, yada. 😉

BTW, if you take my suggestion...

Install Windows Movie Maker 1.2 at your own peril!

I've read mixed results about WMM 1.2 under W2K Pro...

Personally, I wouldn't install it on my machines! 🙂

Ahhh, how I miss the good 'ole days of Autopatcher.

RIP. :brokenheart:

AutoPatcher is still alive - they just ran out of bandwidth!

If you go to THEIR web site, January 2008 updates are posted, but they don't have enough bandwidth available to allow ppl to download them. 😀

They are working on a beta that you CAN download, but...

Why mess around?

The August 2007 package is 99% up-to-date, and WU will take care of the rest of it with, like, 3 additional updates. 😉

I saw a system with a "Windows 2000 Unofficial SP5" installed in the control panel add/remove programs list. Anyone know what that is or where to get it?

The autopatcher idea sounds good to me though.
