Yeah but he isn't a citizen yet. Just kind of smells like "Hey I'm British and I know best, America. Come listen to me."

I know its stupid but sometimes I can't help but think like its a show about a non-American explaining how much America sucks in a way that is so simple, even the average American can understand it.

Pretty sure most of the writers are American and many worked on The Daily Show. Sure John is the face of it, but there are many Americans behind it. Not that I understand why it matters...

Couple of his shows have been funny, but by and large, he's just an annoying man with an annoying whiny voice.

Big fan of the show. I like that it's not just about getting laughs; he broaches some pretty serious topics that don't make you laugh so much as say, "wait, why is this happening?" But he still has a good enough sense of comedic timing that he can move between serious and comedic seemingly effortlessly. As far as the accent goes? Everyone knows British voices are more trustworthy when it comes to reporting the news. I think that naturally extends to jokingly reporting the news.

It (the show) makes us think about the poor state of Journalism. We used to have reporters digging for facts. Now we get "opinions".

Now? It's been going on for DECADES.

Back in communism I used to get more broad and positive news/facts, less propaganda than I've seen here.

Anyone that shows American public reality, is a hero in my book. This country is filled with ignorant/blind zombies.

Great show. It is never presented in an us vs them format (unless the "them" is all politicians). He never attacks large portions of the population like other political comedies. It works out well.

I detest political anything because it's generally just a bunch of hooray for our side, your side is stupid and/or evil. This show never comes off that way, and so I enjoy it. When someone is an idiot, that person is an idiot individually. He doesn't use it to paint half the population as idiots. It's refreshing to watch because of this.

Some liberal whacko with an accent talking shit about America? Sounds like that pierce dude. If you watch this show, you are un-american. Especially you Canadians.

<--- waits for the doofuses to post how Canada isn't in America.

Maybe you should just stick to fox news so you can only hear how great and wonderful America is, or at least the white half that they cater to.

Any fans?

Personally I like the show but I'm starting to be somewhat.. i dunno what the right word is...

Most of what he talks about on the show are problems with the USA specifically, but there is a huge amount of spillover onto Canada obviously as well, depending on the issue. Personally I don't find anything he is saying to be all that offensive, and generally speaking seems like he focuses on systems that have institutionalized discrimination rather than just people that suck.

But I'm pretty sure this show is going to tank in the not-too-distant future. I have a feeling that Americans are going to get pretty sick of a British guy with a tv show telling them how much their country sucks.

The show isn't nearly as light as it was in the first season. I like the pointing out hypocrisy but imo the show needs to lighten up.

It has happened before and his name was Piers Morgan.

Besides, for many mouth breathing Americans, the British accent sounds well-educated, intelligent, and sophisticated. You can believe anything said in a British accent.

lol. 1 - I'm Canadian. 2 - I clearly said I like the show. 3 - I wouldn't watch FOX news willfully ever.

I think I might eventually get sick of how serious the main topic of each show is. Show name is also a bit inaccurate.

I like the show and see no reason it can't continue on for at least several seasons. Obviously it's a different format than, say, the Daily Show or the Maher show, but to me it's quite good for what it is.
