Last time I order from zipzoomfly

I placed an order on Sunday for a XFX 6600gt. On their website, it says that they need at least 1-2 days for processing time. Thats fine. I get an email this morning (WED), that the item is out of stock, and will ship as soon as it is in stock. But they went ahead and charged my credit card already. The item also shows as "in stock" on their website right now.

Now, when I placed orders from outpost, they dont charge my card until the item is in stock. Am I out of line here? Is it normal to charge a persons card before the item is in stock?

I don't think it's even legal for them to charge you until they actually shipped the item. What you may see is a precharge on your account which lets your card company know the money is reserved for a pending sale. No interest or grace period should be applied to the precharge. If it's not a precharge, you can dispute it with your creditor. In some cases you'll probably find that they can't argue the dispute and forget to recharge you when the item does ship. 😉

You sure this is not just a temporary transaction?

Most online shops, as well as hotels and the like do a temporary transaction to ensure the credit card is valid and filled in first place. But they don't let it "go life" later and instead do a new transaction to actually get the money later.
