I saw the Shrine Circus a bunch of times as a kid.Who can say here they actually seen a circus in real life. I did. it was pretty damn cool. I do see why circe du soleil is really popular though.
I don't want to live on this planet. It's bitter-sweet. When something's always been there, it becomes expected and you miss it when it's gone.
On the other-hand, it's a form of entertainment from another era and it doesn't really have a place in modern society. Truthfully, these types of live shows started to fall off in popularity in the 80's and have been of life-support for the past decade or so.
I saw the Shrine Circus a bunch of times as a kid.
I saw Ringling Brothers at least once, maybe twice.
I saw Circus Vargas twice (it had the largest circus tent in world at the time).
I saw a few really small circuses, one of which turned out to be front for Jesus freaks.
Ringling was the dullest of the bunch with multiple parades around the arena which seemed to be designed as fillers.
end of an era.
