Well I think this will be my last post about getting a Radeon. Now I can't figure out what I should do, the Retail is a nippy bit faster than the OEM but is another $25 which really pushs it as far as what I have to spend :( So I REALLY would rather get the OEM which I can afford but I don't want to do something stupid by getting a slower one. So how much slower is it ?

What should I do ? My Rage Fury is SOOO slow these days !!!

I can't make a mistake here, the Radeon is faster in high res but the GTS is faster in lower res, for now Radeon woops, but when games start getting tougher to run maybe the GTS would be more handy, just a thought, which do you think would last me the longest ?

Thanks everyone !

You didn't say whether or not it is the 64 or 32 version. Both the OEM and Retail 32 DDR version are clocked the same so there is no difference to them. The 64 OEM runs at 166mhz while the 64 Retail runs at 183mhz.

Ok, is that because its better for OC ing ? I don't plan to overclock it, if I do, not very far... Or is it just for plain old performance ?

Thanks !

If you plan to sell the card later in the year you may get more for the retail. Also, if the retail comes with games or other software that you find valuable then the $25 extra is definitely worth it.

neither is fully dx8 compliant. new cards should be out in a couple months that work with dx8 better, so they should be longer lived. oh, and microsoft's next consumer os is based on the nt codebase, and nvidia's nt drivers are a ton better than ati's. so thats a consideration.
