I used fdisk to divide my 20gig into 5 for windows and applications and 15 gig for everything else. This is fresh new computer so nothing was on it. I first installed windows and now it shows c:/ as 5 gig, d: as cdrom1, e: as cdrom2 but no 15 gig! Please don't tell me I have to reformat and install windows again 🙁

You probably made one of the following mistakes:

* You didn't format the new partitions (their drive-letters still need to be formatted).
* You only created an "EXTENDED" Partition. You STILL must create LOGICAL pratitions within this extended partitions. Think of it in terms of adding drawers to a chest. Once you've created one/more logical partitions inside the EXTENDED partition (via FDISK) & formatted it, you'll be fine 🙂.

Hope this helps 🙂.

You the man!!!!!! Worked perfectly. I didn't create the extended partition. I set that, it automatically assigned it a drive letter, and now it's being formatted. Thanks!
