Last Opteron 165 Inventory for 2 weeks @ NewEgg

Here we go... I talked to NE this morning about getting them to drop the price on the Opteron 165. Looks like they just did a few minutes ago. It's $289 right now. After NE runs out of stock, there won't be any new chips until late November.

Looks like the 165 retail box is now sold out at Newegg (it wasn't as of about 6 hours ago). 165 OEM and 170 retail box are still there for now.

I decided to go for an OEM 170 from Monarch ($356) for the higher multiplier. Hope everyone who wanted to get one of these Opterons is able to get one. 🙂
 
Man I hate you 🙂 - I just gave in and ordered an OEM 165 and DFI Infinity NF4 Ultra, + Next-Day Shipping. Im heading out of town for a week on Sunday, so I wanted to get it before I left 😀

Hmm, now what to do with my ATI RS480M2-IL and 3000+ Winnie...

They are shipping mine from NJ so it's the same as paying for next day for me😀..I should have it tommorow:beer:

Yeah, I am in Long Island, never sure where they will ship from, CA or NJ. Did not want to take the chance... especially since I am getting a Mboard too 🙂

Don't think prices will change at all in the next 2 weeks. The chip was just dropped from $450+ to <$300 in the past week. The retailers are just getting their prices in sync with AMDs recent price drop.
 
The 165 retail box came back in stock at Newegg several hours ago, but it looks like they've just jacked up the price to $359. OEM there is still $289.

Might not see another shipment for a few weeks, no one else seems to have the 165 now either.

Be glad you got a 170. A lot of people getting the 165's are getting 0534's that dont clock real well. Hopefully you'll get a chip like mine 0530tpmw 2.9ghz @ 1.5v dual prime stable 😀
 
I also just ordered a 170 from Monarch w/ a ASROCK Dual SATA2 (yes, I know the VCORE won't go over 1.45v, but I don't care). Only $60 more in the short run, and gotta be better than my 2600+ @ 220FSB by leaps and bounds.

BTW- That $10 off $75 coupon is working again.

Let's hope they can meet demand on the 170s now that the 165s are OOS.

Actually with a simple voltmod that a 10 year old could do (ok maybe not 10)...you can get up to 1.7vcore
