Let's not indulge Mayne's trolling with stories about how Snape kills Dumbledore.

Great movie. Kinda funny to think the old guy was toughest one in the movie. If I ever decide to get revenge on someone, I'm going to do it Magua style!

Magua was the bad guy that
got disjointed and broken at the end.

Is it me or was Last of the Mohicans nothing at all like the book, and thus, not as good?

He also
cut the heart out of a dude and showed it to him, and was going to kill his daughters to wipe his seed from existence
. Thats my kind of plan. In a way I dont even really consider him a bad guy.
British killed his family, the French put the ambush in play, Magua abided by the Heron (I think) chief's decision and didnt kill either daughter. And he was just walking home when he got jumped by some dudes and stood his ground.

Dude, that's like asking people not to post spoilers on the original Star Trek or something like the Wizard of Oz. Honestly, if you haven't seen the Wizard of Oz and don't know how the witch dies that's your problem.

That's a shitty comparison. However, he should have expected spoilers in a thread devoted to the end of a movie. And I'm sure he did and is just trolling.

It was nothing like the book and thus very good.

This. The book had interesting data in it, but it was very poorly written by today's standards. I don't read many books from back then, so...maybe it was freaking Hamlet at the time, but I found it overwrought and unengaging.

Watched the 1936 film on Amazon Prime.

Terrible. Especially the finale.

Just...terrible.

1992 film is damn near perfect.

When Nathan / Hawkeye enters Fort William Henry, Jack shouts "Nathaniel!" from the ramparts. He turns to Jack and shouts back: "I need to talk to you, Jack!"

The captions on the version I recorded are wrong. In those captions, he says: "It's torture, Jack!"

Pretty sure the Blu-Ray had it right.

Yes, the BD did have it right. The French commander's audio sounded terrible during the Parlay scene, though. Something was bad wrong there.

I noticed the BD subtitles spelled it "parley" while my soundtrack rip (using track titles/info from the Gracenote database) says "Parlay." From my past experiences, my initial instinct is to assume the Gracenote database was incorrect.

Google thinks the correct spelling is "parley."

define:parlay

The Wikipedia page for the soundtrack shows "Parlay" and a 2000 release that has no track with any similar title.

I searched for a picture of the track list and found this, where both the disk and the CD insert have it spelled: "Paralay." o_O

I finally dug-up my CD and it's "Parlay" on both the disc and the CD insert.

he needs to make one film with a happy ending. ONE. just one, without misery and dispair.

Pretty sure that Pirates of the Caribbean spelled it "Parlay" too.

i see if for $5 on amazon if you are a prime member...but can't figure out how to buy it if you are not a prime member....doh. So I went to walmart.com and got it for $5.
figure I should own this Blu-ray, but the "most helpful" Amazon customer reviews state the director's cut botched the theatrical version. :/

I re-watched the "definitive director's cut" BD and it was excellent. Maybe I'll have to see what he thinks was "botched."

Do not fear. That reviewer was excoriating the much-older "director's cut" DVD/VHS. The lines of dialog he claimed were missing are most certainly included in the "definitive director's cut" BD. Some of those reviews are from long before the Blu-Ray format and the "definitive director's cut" existed.

One of the best movies of all time.
Starring one of the best actors of all time.
With one of the best soundtracks of all time.

Any who dislikes it is a heathen heretic.

PS: Here's the full ending (though it has non-english subs) https://vimeo.com/28989315

Thanks for checking! Just ordered it before the price goes up.
