Another survival/mmo game, i've been playing testing this one for a while now, it has a lot of potential and active devs. The melee combat is like Mount and Blade, 3 directional attacks and 3 parry's. You build walkers, scavange supplies, build temporary outposts in the various oasis. These oasis will degrade and eventually 'burn up' as the earth slowly rotates, it's a pvp game, full loot after lvl 20, playing this solo will not be easy.

Game releases in early access tomorrow on Steam

You can build smaller bases and pack them up in the larger (dinghy>) walkers , you'll go around killing rupu's and gathering resources. The main levelling mechanic is acquiring knowledge fragments to unlock new recipes, you'll find them at various wreckage sites etc

The wooden boxes require a ballista gun with tow rope or a crane (pick up the box, drop it until it breaks) , the stone boxes require fire arrows or hullbreaker ammo , there's always a container at these sites that you can pick up without having to break into the box.

This looks very cool. Being a survival nut myself I have been watching this game for awhile now. The only downside to me is you have to find a group to play with. I tend to solo these sorts of games and its much harder to get established and keep your stuff when playing solo.

Hadn't heard of it until this thread was posted. Is it worth the $25 in its current state?

damnit.....i managed about 6 hours of playtime on Thursday and had been locked out since, i guess the devs finally raised the white flag. They're taking down the servers for 7 days min to try and fix it, all those that had safely logged out on thursday where unable to log back in. The general consensus of the people playing it in our alliance was overwhelmingly positive and they can't wait for it to be back up.

Hard Servers have been released so we are starting to see the more advanced tech become available like the Falco Walker, the bigger clans have moved to those maps and the medium ones are easier to gather in now

Lots of reviews saying Last Oasis is exactly like other survival MMO's: as soon as you leave the starter area you get gang raped by people with no lives who can afford to invest loads of time in the game.

I love the idea of a lot of these survival games, but looking around there is so much inconsistency in the execution and they are generally absolutely brutal in difficulty or have no functional end game: you keep playing till eventually you die.

Love the style of this game, but MMO is an immediate turn off, and the genre makes me suspect it does not resolve the issues above either.

No idea what you are talking about so just stay inside your base where you are completely safe...
