Last Night I Almost #)@$(*@ed up My Computer

So yesterday I finally bought sold cold cathode lights to finish off my computer and highlight the window. I was so excited that I just plugged them into any power thing I could find. So after playing bf1942 desert combat with them on last night, my computer all of a sudden just died and this random fan starts freakin out which I traced to be coming from the cpu. Everything stopped and froze, software wise at least. I started freakin out and when I tried to restart it, as it wouldnt just allow me to turn it off, I get this message saying disk read error. Then I restart and it tells me to insert a boot device or something like that I forgot. I inserted my cd with the original bios into the comp thinking thats what it want, and and nothing happened. So I restart once again. Then through the speakers I hear, system failed vga test. Now I'm thinking oh crap. So I turn off everything. I take out my graphics card wondering if I had fried it or anything, but it all looked fine. So I put it back in and restart. This time I get to a normal boot, but then I decide to turn off my CCs. I realized that was the problem. BUT THEN...another problem happened. When I turned them off, while the com was still running, an empty power adapter touched my hdd and everything stopped. This time it was everything. I then turned off my psu and waited a little while in shock and then tried to turn it on again. It worked. So after feeling like the luckiest guy in the world, I traced back where my CCs lead to, and they were on the same cord that connect to my gpu, some other fan, and my CCs. Stupid CCs. Not to mention whenever I turn them on my temp. monitor on my case sorta dies. Eh looks like I'm gonna have to rewire I bunch of stuff. That's what I get for being careless.

Eh, were they on the END of the chain of stuff? If not, just put them on the very end... As long as nothing's going through them, they should be fine?

I'm really not sure right now. I thought it would be fine, but I guess my psu is weak? Anyways I'm leaving them off for now and sometime this weak I'm gonna rearrange everything.
