Last night for the first time, I was envious of some people...

Yes, I made up a BS person that I can feel shitty about. lol. I'm tempted to post her pics, but I've seen too many things backfire with people recognizing others. Someone here already knows about the event too.

Sorry champs. Next time.
How's it going to backfire exactly? Its not like you're talking smack about her behind her back (if she is real).

So because she has an MBA, speaks English, and enjoys fine dining, you think she's better than you?

If she's born rich, she can afford as much school as she wants.

It's common to see Asian immigrants or Asians just visiting US. She's neither. She traveled everywhere in short time, got into good schools, and also expressed her stress about MBA (which showed her real effort as a real person).

I find people who basically brag about where they have been and what they have accomplished lead pretty miserable lives. The reason they are always seeking validation and approval from others because they cant give it to themselves. The pics on FB of all the "nice" places she has eaten at is a classic example of this behavior. I am sure all her friends and people like you tell her how impressed they are of dining at nice places.

See? I don't buy this common internet antisocial behavior (which I cannot fucking stand).

YES some people are fake and put up a facade on FB or everywhere. I'm not an idiot.

She didn't spend the night bragging about her shit. That shit would turn me off like most of you would. We talked all night and that's what I learned from her.. you know?- a natural real-human conversations?

Her FB pics aren't designed to show off what's best. It's just tagged pics of her and friends having a good time.

Still, if I had $100,000 burning a hole in my pocket, I can buy a whirlwind tour of the globe in the next five minutes and be done with it in less than a year. Maybe I could afford a $100,000 to goto business school for 2 years. Some searching reveals that LBS has an admit rate of 22%, which seems possible, especially if your folks are connected. Otherwise, Dartmouth isn't really too high on the list.

Again, nothing against her. Her accomplishments are fine, but it's not really unheard of or that uncommon, and certainly nothing for you to become envious about.

I was an immigrant, thought did so at a younger age than her. Many of the people I know come from a similar background, and though not everyone has the money to travel or eat fancy, plenty go to / went to good schools for college and postgrad on merit alone.

Right, she didn't come up with her own money to do all this shit. I just liked her combo of:

Rich parents (not super rich where I can just dismiss) + smart herself + tries hard = envious.

All funded by mommy and daddy's chaebol/corruption money. *golfclap* for her.

I see this kind of thing on okcupid once in a while, where I run across a girl who has it all in her profile: She's got a Masters from a top-tier school, makes 200K+/yr and works somewhere as an executive, she spends her spare time training for and running triathlons and marathons, road bikes 500 miles/week, is a Peace Corps volunteer and builds houses for Habitat for Humanity in Africa or wherever.

I pass on these women because they spend so much time and energy doing that stuff that they forget to be just normal human beings that others (who don't do such things) can relate to at all.

Then you'll just hate Indians or South Asians even more! Lol...these guys are competitive as hell and for them, life is all about getting top-tier college degrees, working for Fortune 500 companies and achieving higher standards of living.

You are not special by the way. I see tons of antisocial 'i hate everyone, people suck' people here in AT. :) Maybe you guys can start something. Oh wait, you hate people.

Hey, if you are such an outgoing and socially likeable person, shouldn't you be bitching about your newly discovered lack of awesomeness with the plethora of friends you have on facebook and twitter?

Yet to choose to bitch about it on a forum full of antisocial, hateful nerds...

I've met many-a-people who, through their own virtue or luck, are way more successful than me. If you concern yourself too much about their accomplishments then that'll preoccupy you for a long time since, as others have said, there is always someone better or luckier.
