I'm a Korean American. I came here 16 years ago.
All of my friends including myself are no slouch. Most of us came from a humble background and we got our college degree and now making decent money. I certainly think we're nice guys too. We like to have good time, kind to others, and all of us are very family-oriented with good head on our shoulders. I've traveled to Europe, Mexico, and went on a big road trip. I like who I am. And I like my friends.
Yesterday I went to a networking happy hour event. And I met this Korean girl- let's call her Lisa. My friends and I were talking it up and making jokes. It wasn't soon after I realized she's a powerhouse:
*She grew up in Korea where learning English is pretty shit, but she was VERY fluent with little to no accent.
*She got her undergrad in Korea, got into Dartmouth here for MBA, but decided to go to London Business School instead. She also loves Pilates. She loved it so much, she got her int'l certificate (whatever that is) between studying for MBA. She says if 'nothing works out' (sure), she'd like to just open her own Pilates practice.
*She's been visiting the States for mere 3 months. In that short time she already toured through Boston, SF, LA, Chicago, and now here in NY. She's leaving for London this Friday for her school.
*She's pretty hot
*What do regular people say about 'rich kids'? We categorize them as douchebags or spoiled brats. No, she was a real overachiever with a great personality. I saw her pics on FB, she's already dined at all the top restaurants in NY. I've been here for 6 months, and I haven't even done that.
In short, she's rich, smart, self-achieved, has lots of friends, and has a great personality.
Man, for the first time, I not only just wanted to bang her, but I was... truly envious of her. I really felt like she was a 'better person' than me. WTF.
