Last minute summer jobs?

I'm a college student graduating with a degree in Psychology on the 27th of May.

I have not started looking for jobs yet and dont plan to until I graduate, that way i can focus on finishing strong with school.

What would be some good summer jobs that I could acquire, and the end of May?

The reason I'm looking for a summer job instead of a real job, is because looking for a real job just seems somewhat scary at the moment, and plus the idea of working a temporary job without commitment sounds appealing.

thanks, heh, its true, there arent that many jobs open to someone with a BA in Psychology. But I'll take what I can get as long as I enjoy it and make more than 9 bucks an hour.

Best of luck in finding a summer job! Most places hire in Jan-March for jobs, with my experience. It was hard for me until I ran into some family contacts!

i might just say screw it, and just look for a full time year round job.

Why would you not be looking for a full-time year round job? You're graduating college. Unless you plan on going back for higher education in Fall that's what you need to be looking for. Don't tell them summer job or they'll tell you no we're filled for summer. Most places want employees for more than 3 months unless its something super simple that requires little training.

i was thinking of searching for a job somewhere which hires seasonal positions, like maybe construction, or maintenence on a college campus, or something.

I'm just a little scared to commiting to something that lasts longer than 3 months. I need more time to think about it.

You don't look for a "summer job" after graduating from college....you're kinda supposed to work for the rest of your life.

Why don't you just apply for a position at a psyche hospital or group home, they are always looking for attendents.

i dont think i'd like taking care of the mentally ill, old people, or kids.

i know, and people ask me why i was a psych major.

This is really sad.

As a side note, why did you get a BA? If you're not ready for work then maybe consider withdrawing your graduation papers and taking the extra classes for the BS. Will that help you get a job? With that major you're pretty much screwed unless you get a PhD aren't you? However any college degree is better than no degree and many jobs just want to know that you have the "piece of paper". Go ahead and apply for a full time position and don't tell them that you intend on it being temporary. Who knows, you might like it and stay.
