Thank you member "bit"!
In general it is a good deal on a laptop!

But I want you fellow members to confirm a few things for me:

1)
There was a similar deal (post) with $300 off (instant promotion code) $100 off (via HP MIR) and free shipping. So total is $400 off!!!
While this deal is still sweet but it has only $250 off? Am I correct? Is it worth the wait for maybe another $400 off to come around?

2)
You can not upgrade HD on ZE4000??? (while it says "A range of Hard Drives from 20-60GB.")
Link to Staples.com ZE4000
I REALLY need at least a 30GB!

Any ideas and suggestions?

Another model? brand?

Thank you!

The old deal had the $75 shipping charge. This deal has free shipping and a free 2nd battery...so you be the judge. 🙂

Nope, there was free shipping before for the latter part of the deal and HP always includes a second free battery....not that this isnt a good deal the old deal was just better 🙂

You CAN upgrade the hard drive, you just have to upgrade to a faster CPU.

I must say that laptops are pretty easy to open up and basically upgraded. You just need to do a little trial and error trying to snap off covers and remove screws. Laptops now adays I believe are getting easier to disassemble/assemble as the design have been fine tune to allow quick manufacturing and support. Soon, even my son will be able to upgrade his laptop's CPU, motherboard, graphic card, ect....

And yeah its a good deal but, after what we seen before, this is only a good deal. Buy it if you need it now and you prolly would not find it cheaper anywhere else.

Good heads up.

:-( :-/
No matter what I've tried I can not upgrade the HD!

I've tried all CPUs under the default set up and then with different screens (and hit 'calculate price' after each)
Just no go!

you said you CAN - HOW?

Thank you!

looks like all you have to do is up the memory to anything other than the normal 128mb and it lets you change the harddrive size. 🙂

After looking at both laptops I would rather have the one in a thread I posted earlier (HP ze4115):

Link

It has a better processor, bigger HD, cdrw/dvd, more ram, free bag, AND 12 mos. S.A.C. I know it is $280 more, but what you get is well worth it, IMO.

Actually, all you have to do is to upgrade to 256MB DDR RAM (not the CPU, sorry) and the option becomes available.
