Last day at work today

Today is my last day and I'm feeling pretty good about it. I decided to hell with dress code and came in with sneakers and my "No, I will not fix your computer" t-shirt.

We're going out for lunch soon and hopefully my boss will walk me out shortly after.

I feel really bad for the guys left in my department. There used to be 8 of us and once I'm gone it's down to 2. One of those remaining two will be laid off sometime in the next 5 months (as I would be if I stayed) and then our department (one remaining guy) will be disbanded.

Now I just need to think of a funny email to send to the whole company to say "good-bye."

The company I work for is a small ISP. About 96,000 customers. I was, along with two other guys, in charge of all the customer service providing servers such as e-mail, web hosting, etc.

Our company was bought in April and we were told we're being laid off by April 2008 shortly after that since they would be moving all our stuff to their servers.
