Last day at work seems like an eternity

I accepted a job with a new Cell Phone company and have not yet told my boss. He comes in about 10 today so I will tell him my good news. I'm pretty sure I'm going to get escorted out of the building since my new employer is a competitor of my current one. This is going to be the longest half hour ever.

Thanks, I think I will need it. I'm just hoping the Engineering dept. there is as relaxed as mine. Here, I can go in when I want, leave when i want, work at home when I want, and wear what I want. Like every new job, I will just need to get a feel for how everything works there.

that aint cool...why cant people put in their 2 weeks notice like good little children?

I hope you dont want to be friends with your current co-workers, cause they're gonna be pissed being all of a sudden stuck with all your extra work that could of been taken care of if you gave notice and let them find a replacement.

I'm actually really good friends with most of the people here and made sure I finished my last project before yesterday just so I don't leave a bunch of work for someone to do. It's standard policy for most companies that if you put in your notice and they know you're going to a competitor, you will be terminated immediately and still be paid for two weeks. It's not like I'm making it up just to get out of working. It's true what I am about to tell them.
