PSU is very important, that much money on a computer you cant skimp on the power

This is Magnum. Fanless PS by XG - got great reviews and is silent. Has an external heat sink and looks totally boss...maybe a little pricey. But certainly not generic...very high end stuff.

Whoach! Modularized ATX power is not a good idea. But it looks fine otherwise.

Change CPU to Opteron 175 and burner to BenQ DW1640 and you got my :thumbsup:

15A on the +12V rail on that PS, isn't that pretty crappy?

Edit - NM, apparently from the review it has TWO 15A 12v rails. Newegg listed just one I think.

The PSU is a piece of crap. You're better off wtih an enermax 350W PSU w/ 32 amps on the +12v rail.

Goto www.dfi-street.com which has two full time DFU employees posting there- they have tons of great information, especially on the PSU's. That forum and Ribbon 13 were very helpful in specing out my DFI MOBO based computer build.

Thatks for the criticisms guys. Just a few ??'s for you.

1.) Why the 3800 over the 4400? The price difference is only $80, you get a toledo core (which should o/c better) and you get an extra 512mb L1 cache per core - isn't that worth the extra $80?

2.) What makes the Opteron a better processor? How would it compare to an X2? I see they are about the same price.

3.) Does the $150 difference really justify the performance difference between the GT and the GTX 7800's?

never heard of that psu as long as its reliable than fine after reading get the seasonic 500-600w quiet and reliable wont regret it.
go operon instead of the x2 get a opteron 170 or 165.
fine mobo but sli is a waste
get a 1gig stick your going to want to upgrade to two gigs and you cant have 4 x 512mb sticks.
nice choice on the video card forget what that one guy said about getting 7800gtx waste of cash get the evga 7800 gt copper and you will be fine.
NEC or benQ would be my choice in dvd burners.

A2 cards are almost identical for that from what I've seen.

Thanks everyone. The order is in with the specs noted. There ws a rebate on the Antec Phantom at Buy.com which sealed the deal on that one.

Now what cooling should I get for the Proc?
