Hi!
I am searching for a portable multi-purpose battery-driven music system to be used together with mp3-players (3.5 mm jack). Typical use will be on small trips and hikes, summerparties, when working at the house, etc.
I have owned several Boomblasters (RV-B70, RV-B90 and RV-NB1) and I am quite satisfied with them, and now I need another one. However, a couple of days ago I discovered the Lasonic i931 and I think it has better geometry than the Boomblaster, and I would like to give it a try. But I have still not found any good review of the sound nor the casing. I want the sound to be on par with the Boomblaster, except for the bass (which no portable system can match). And the casing should be robust enough to be carried around (maybe strapped to a backpack) and put on the ground anywhere. The system should also be at least as efficient as the Boomblaster (when BB woofers set to 2 out of 5).
So has anyone had any first-hand experience with the Lasonic? And maybe compared it to a Boomblaster (or corresponding system)? Is it just an expensive and colorful plastic-fantastic-box, or is it a serious system with a bit punch and robustness?
(And the price in Norway/Europe is ridiculous. $340, compared to $150 at amazon.com.)
Edit: JVC Boomblaster is maybe called JVC Kaboom Box in some countries.
