Laser thingy.

theres a discalmer basically says it cant

it only works on a inside corner like this |_ so teh level runs into the other wall and "goes around the corner"

Actually, light can bend around corners; it's called diffraction. That doesn't necessarily mean that commercial's on the level.

if the laser is strong enough it'll go through the wall!~!@

Hence my caveat.

It uses a prism to turn the pinpoint beam into a flat line. When stuck to a wall it projects it beam along the wall and across inside corners but not outside corners. Some units are mounted on tripods and use a rotating mirror to project a flat beam 360degrees, and when placed in the center of a room it creates a single line along all the walls within its sight.

Exactly.

The way it shows on the whole wall is because it not a flat laser line like a pointer, it shows out at a bit over 180 degrees or so. It goes around inside corners just by increasing the output over 180 degrees. I'm not sure if they make 360 degree ones but that'd be cool.
