SED apparently looks awesome.

Too bad that it may never make it to the consumer market. Toshiba is no longer involved (because of patent issues), so Canon is now going it alone, and they've recently said there is no plan to bring it to the consumer market any time soon. It's going to be pro only when it comes out (possibly 2007).

Wonder if you can have a front projected laser TV. (And mount it on a shark)

SED is the really exciting one, though it may never see commercial use. :(

Lasers scare me, the general population is entirely too enthralled with them & if they ever do release laser lit DLP's the "OMG I have a LASER TV!!!" will get old. I suppose I'll be OK if it offers real benefits over existing DLP technologies (namely LED), but it just has so much potential for hype.

There could be a huge marketing side-business with laser TVs.

If you are looking to buy an HDTV in 2007, this is THE only set you need to look for. Well, that is if you have the money. It definitely won't be for the budget conscious consumers.

Not really, my calculator has a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio, and I'm not kidding.

but projection TVs SUCK. End of story. The only thing you can boast is high contrast. Projections will never take down an actual LCD screen.

Probably be 4 years or so before i will buy a nice tv. Hopefully one of those technologies will be out and have had time to mature a bit :)

Eh, SED kind of went out the window with all the delays associated with it, and the announcements of Pioneer's 8th generation plasma panel, which is said to have the blackest blacks ever seen on any set.
