Laser printer warm up times...

We have some HP Laserjet 2200's and 2100's that we would like to have continually "warm" so we dn't have to wait for each print job. Newer HP's supposedly have an "instant-on" features, but that just isn't an option.

Wondering if there might be some software that will trick the printer in being spooled up and ready to print.... I doubt it, but I figured I might ask.

And yes, I realize this will probably put a lot of stress on the printers, but that will already be happening.

Thanks

If you're using Windows I think there's a setting that lets you set the time delay until the printer goes into standby or sleep mode. You can set that to a very high value.

I dont think so, the fuser needs to warm to near 450 degress to melt the toner.

yeah, I was hoping there'd be a way to keep it close to there. Altho, with the printing that is going on, warm up time might get gradually faster.
