My Brother printer is flashing fuser on the display.

As I was making copies it made some violent sound like a sever paper jamb and now it smells like it caught on fire (it didn't).

Does this mean I have to replace the fuser or is it toast?

Prior to this it was leaving blue marks all over the paper so I think one of more of the drums needed to be replaced.

Thanks!

Depending which model printer you have, it may be cheaper to replace the printer. Fusers can be pricey.

Thanks for the help guys.

What happened was indeed a rear paper jam that had so much bits of paper it set them afire.

The second issue was I refilled my toner :D and those ended up dumping too much on the drums which caused the fuser to error out. I changed the cartridges and cleaned it all up and now it's working fine.

Glad to hear this solved your issue. Fusers typically are not worth replacing unless you have an older workhorse that you want to keep going.
