I'm wanting to convert most of my file based folders into an electronic format. I definitely need document feeder if i'm going to do this. I started by look at at just regular scanners and noticed the prices where quite high for a scanner with a document feeder. I was thinking why not just replace my laser printer with a "all in one" laser since the price will probably be cheaper or at least close to a scanner.
I will be transfer most of these scanned things to probably either evernote or onenote depending on how confidential i think it is.
I currently have a this samsung laser printer which i'm extremely happy with:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16828112085
It has all the features i need/want:
1. Duplex
2. NIC card so i can connect it to my internal network.
3. Pretty fast start up times and plenty fast enough in the ppm department for my needs.
4. Never has jammed even once.
I defintely want at least all the features that my current printer has above especially "Duplex". I rarely print without duplex. I don't think its considered to be true duplex because it doesn't have two heads. It just automatically sucks the paper back in and prints on the other side. Which is perfectly fine for my needs. I absolutely do not want manual duplex where you have to flip the paper over and put it back in the paper drawer to printed on the other side.
I really don't know how the current scanner lasers work since ive never used one. I've heard some of them have trouble scanning to a networked computer so that would be a must too. I don't want to have to connect it via USB. Anyways i don't know if you get a choice on what format your scan comes in as PDF, text, Word, Image (jpg....). But it would be nice to have some flexability in that. Here are some of the printers i've looked at:
Canon:

Samsung:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16828112127
Brother:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16828113302
I think i'm leaning towards the samsung just because my luck with my current printer but i've heard very good things about brother printers. I did look at color lasers but i found out that i would have to spend between 450-500 to get the features i needed and while i'm sure there would cases where color would be nice its not worth about 2x the cost for me. Any advice would be appreciated.
thanks,

Edit: another question do most of these AIO lasers allow you to finish scanning and then will combine your scanned documents into one file or will they produce a file for each page?
