Laser Multi-Funcation recommendations

Anyone could recommend a Multi-funcation, that includes but not limited to good laser-quality copying and faxing? $500-600 budget range.

My impression of MFT is that they are usually short-lived. The budget could be flexible, but I really want one that lasts long. Any ideas?
