Laser color printer VS ink photo printer... Photo quality question.

I currently own a Canon s320 ink photo printer, and I have been very impressed with the results.
I have access to a HP Laserjet 8550N at work, and was wondering what it would like on laser "photo paper"?
First of all, is there such a think as "photo paper" or laser printers?
Which printer will give a better "photo" end result?

-Thanks

Generally most newer inkjet based printers will give a better result compared to most laser printers. Laser printers IMHO tend to reproduce pictures with too soft of color and kind of an "artifical gloss" look. There is photo paper available for laser printers, but it doesn't resemble its inkjet counterpart. It's usually not as thick and not as glossy; usually labeled "soft gloss." I would think your i320 canon would give a better picture than a 8550 HP color laser, although the new HP's (4600 and 5500) appear much sharper than older color lasers.
