Las Vegas - what Cirque du Soleil show to see?

spidey07

No Lifer
I did see some of the stuff they did on Discovery HD though and it was mind blowing. I was curious on what show offers the "holy crap, they're flying through the air" stuff. So in other words, most performance, least artsy fartsy.

O
Ka
Mystere
Love
Zumanity

Thanks in advance! Trying to get tickets tonight.

I just saw Ka on Dec 1st at the MGM Grand.. It was nothing short of spectacular. Not very artsy fartsy, and lots of "Holy crap how do they DO that" stuff.

Tip: If you are sitting up close, bring sunglasses for the finale... I thought I was going to go blind after the last 5 minutes!

Isn't "O" the adult one?

Thats the one I'd go with, not the family/kiddie one.

I'm pretty sure that's Zumanity. O is the water one.

But personally, I think the main reason to see Cirque du Soleil is for the performance. It doesn't matter if it's "family/kiddie" or not, IMO.

I have seen them all and ;

1: "O" was the best (it'$ worth it to try and get best seats as possible)

2: Mystere was second best

3: KA

4: Love

5: Zumanity - was lame for a Cirque du Soleil show

I do remember seeing what appeared to be nekkid people on the posters for Zumanity.

I highly recommend seeing Penn & Teller's show. It's hilarious.

Thanks a bunch guys. Any tips on getting tickets?

Tix-4-tonite seems like something to try while there but there is guarantee. I have only 3 missions - see Soleil, see the dam, make money at blackjack/craps.

I bought my tickets online right from MGM's website. They were around the same price as any online ticket vendor and I had more control over where we sat.

Good luck with the BJ/Craps.. I came back $4k lighter 🙁

BTW: If you dont mind wasting 4 hours of your day to go on a tour of some new property and get a big sales speech where they promise you a free vacation/cruise/etc, then you can get 2 for 1 tickets to Ka from Hilton holidays. They also have other shows that they allow you to purchase at a discount. Availability may be an issue though.

Trust me, they are all over all of the casinos, they will hound you at least 20 times. I didnt bite, but I saw a lot of people signing up.

Wow. That's a pretty good consensus.

O it is.

akshatp, sorry man. That's the way it goes I guess.

I'm having a tough time getting good seats for O. Flying out on 12/24. Should be a ton of fun. So good seats for O are close to the stage?

I lived in vegas for the past year (now live in GA)..........and definately go see O. It is by far the best, IMHO. I have seen Zumanity, Ka, Mystere and O. SO SEE O.

And I agree with LeadMagnet, get the best seats that you can. The effect of the water is better.

The best show I saw while I lived in Vegas was Avenue Q though. That show was hillarious. Too bad it stopped this past May. Never got a chance to see Penn and Teller, but I've heard good things about it.

Thank you all for your assistance.

Trying to get tickets through a reseller now. They ain't cheap, but I want to see the best show I can while I'm there. Trying for center seats but damn they're going for 300+ a piece!!!!

Don't sit TOO close to the stage. You will end up having to be looking up at the performance alot. Try to get seats in the center of the theatre, 10-15 rows back from the stage...

saw mystere. liked it, but had no idea what was going on. read up on plot summary b4 going.

Love? never heard of it. when did it come out? and what casino is it in?

Does lasvegas.com have tickets? That's where I got mine for O.

Edit: It looks like they're sold out until January 4th, though. Ouch.

Don't forget to book a Grand Canyon helicopter tour from Papillion as well. It's fun!

Love is the newest one, with the Beatles music. It's at the Mirage.

Bought tickets to the show on August 2007. Unnamed so far, hope it's great. Tickets were $100 CDN for level 100s, closest you can get.

I've only seen mystere and i thought it was amazing. But I've heard good things about O too. In regards to Tix-4-tonight... I tried doing that when I was out there. I went a few days in a row, only to find out all the tickets they had sucked. If you want a Cirque show, good luck paying less than full price w/o doing one of those 1/2 day things where they try to sell you a house/apt/etc.

Just my 2 cents.
