Las Vegas Strip hotels

I'm putting together a Vegas trip for three couples. I can get the Luxor or Treasure Island for about the same price ($150/night) on the weekend. Of these two, which one would you choose?

We're all Vegas novices, and we'd like to stay on the Strip. We'd prefer something nicer (not Circus Circus), but we'd like to keep it around $150/night (or less). I already tried Priceline and Biddingfortravel, and I got nothing.

If you've got something better, tell me.

They're more or less on opposite ends of the strip. Luxor is next to NY NY, Mandalay, MGM, Excaliber, and Tropicana while TI is next to Mirage, Paris, Bellagio, Venetian, etc. Really all depends on where you wanna be. I stayed in the pyramid the last time at Luxor, it's kinda cool.

Oh, sign up for the email list for Venetian. They spam me but can usually get a room there for around $130/night during non-rush season.

the elevators at the luxor take a few rides to get used to...actually they are called inclinators or something since they go up at angle...

<---got married at the luxor Feb 2004...

and for our one year anniversary, we stayed at TI....the Sirens show rocks!!!!

Luxor is nicer, but the tower rooms are significantly better than the pyramid. Much higher quality, more usable space, etc.

If you want cheap rates, keep an eye on the specific hotels' websites. My family goes annually and keeps an eye on rates on all the sites for a few months before we book. They fluctuate tremendously. We've stayed at every hotel on the strip except Bellagio and Wynn (including the Venitian, Caesars in a suite w/jacuzzi), and we've never paid more than $129 a night, including weekends.

Good luck...
