Possibly going to Las Vegas for 4 nights at the end of this month. Need hotel recommendations. Have been there before in '98. Already been to MGM Grand, Luxor, Caesar's Palace. Looking for medium priced place on Strip. Neither myself nor my family members gamble much, so other (family friendly) attractions are a plus. That said, it need not be excessively kid-friendly like Circus Circus or Excalibur.

Of a few placed I have checked so far, what are your recommendations on Aladdin's, Monte Carlo, and the Stratosphere?

I've heard Aladdin is nice. Monte Carlo is kinda dated. Stratosphere is WAY down the strip and not around much (although it is cheap).

I would recommend Aladdin or Paris.

You could try Treasure Island. Affordable. Nice.

Has the fighting pirates outside. Inside they have a Cirque Du Soleil. Kid friendly that parents will like. ;)

New York New York is cool too. They have the roller coaster inside. Ground floor looks like the streets of New York. Pretty neat.

Didn't they axe the fighting pirates outside, for something more 'sexy' or something? I don't think they do it anymore (unless they are removing it after the summer or something)

I would second New York New York as well.

If you want a decent Hotel in the middle of the strip, Harrahs. It not ghetto, and its in walking distance of all the big hotels like Bellagio, Paris, etc.

Yes and No. The pirates are out as of Sept (i think) but you can still catch them now.

I am going to Vegas mid Aug. We are staying in the flamingo. Not only about mid strip, but the best pool in the whole area.

If you want a good website with some hotel reviews, try CheapoVegas

The mirage, its in the middle of the strip, very family friendly, across from the Venecian, treasure island is connected by a tram, the ceaser palace forum shops are a stones throw away, (nextdoor). its your best bet, i stayed there 3 weeks ago

What he said. The Mirage is less than 5 minutes from Caesar's Palace. I would've recommended Caesar's Palace but you said you already stayed there. My wife and I stayed in the King's Tower suite when we got married, and it was excellent.
