The city of Las Vegas somehow upped the bling level over the weekend, with major Oscar B. Goodman proclaiming May 14 'Diddy Day'.
Rap mogul and entrepreneur Sean 'P. Diddy' Combs was in town, on the eve of Las Vegas' 100th birthday celebrations, to receive the honour in a special celebration marking his achievements in the world of entertainment.
"P. Diddy brings national attention to every city he travels to and our hope is that he continues to bring his electrifying presence to Las Vegas," said Mayor Oscar Goodman in a statement.
Combs received the honour at a special event held in front of the Aladdin Saturday afternoon.
"It's a great honor that one of my favourite cities in the world, Las Vegas, has named May 14th 'Diddy Day'," added Combs. "Las Vegas is one of the most colourful and vibrant cities I know. Its non-stop action and adrenaline-fuelled energy is infectious. I look forward to working with the city in the years to come."
