Well we do seem to read things differantly . Could you show me a link were Intel ever set a date for Larrabee IGP. Haswell is the First I ever heard for IGP and thats 2012.

Intel THe company has said 1st half 2010 . They still stand by that for the Non- IGP larrabee. I don't know how you read things but try word association and comprehension befor making statements that Intel has already said isn't a Fact . Larrabee in 1st half 2010.

Who cares about IGP at this moment in time . None have GOOD IGP none.

Read this a bit more carefully, slowly, and without your hand over the Intel bible.

"Larrabee reportedly has TDP issues, as its very tough to make a GPU and keep it under desired Thermal Design Power and TDP is very important part of Integrated Graphics Processor design, and therefore Larrabee IGP has still many miles to go, but at least it's in the plans. "

This says, that Larrabee has TDP issues, not Larrabee IGP. And BECAUSE Larrabee has TDP issues, and BECAUSE TDP is very important part of Integraged Graphics Processor Design, any integrated Larrabee solution has many miles to go.

Faxon got it right. You have taken it to some other place.

Except there is no proof offered of Larrabee's supposed TDP issues.

And even if Larrabee had a high TDP it says nothing about performance at that TDP.

TDP is going to be frequency, number of cores, and voltage dependent. And performance will be frequency and number of cores dependent.

Telling me the TDP is reportedly (who reported it? not Fudz) high says nothing about the rest of the story regarding performance or core count, which means I have nothing to go on for assuming that IGP larrabee is delayed.

These stories are funny, it's like two people sit down and start a conversation off by posing a question regarding a hypothetical scenario "what would be the implications of Larrabee having a large TDP?"...what follows is some doomsday spiral of knock-on effects to product lines derived from Larrabee and so on.

Then for some reason they write up the story their hypothetical scenario created but they drop all mention of the leading question to their hypothetical scenario and instead it gets labeled as "fact - Larrabee has high TDP, and here's how this means the world will end as far as Intel is concerned, do read on...".

If Intel launch Larrabee in H1 2010, then everything is according to plan!

If not, then maybe Intel wants to delay Larrabee a little bit, for a reason! (I don't know, maybe Intel wants to bandle Larrabee with Duke Nukem Forever like Omegas said :p )

^ Agreed. There is no proof of the TDP issues. I was just referencing the posted material. And I give no merit to Fud and his reporting, not whatsoever.

that's funny, I was heckled the other day by somebody for also questioning fud's journalistic competence/integrity. How could anybody read them and NOT wonder what they're smoking? Maybe we all feel like this is men in black and we can read the natl enquirer for our news about aliens...

You can but you've got to know what is signal and what is noise, just as the MiB knew that not every story in the natl enquirer was a cover story for something alien happening.

Same with Fud/BSN/Charlie/TheINQ, not every story to grace their webpages is a rumor with a thread of truth. But some are.

That's why you cross-check with your own sources, or people you know have sources, as well as apply some common-sense and mix together within the backdrop of any known biases the rumor site may have against the company for which the article is about.

To throw the baby out with the bath water when it comes to rumor sites is fool-hardy, you may as well have no interest in reading anything about next-gen products if that is your approach to all things that come from unofficial sources. On the flipside its natural to be wary of the fanboy who relies on nothing but rumor-site sources to back up their arguments for or against any company.
