What's disheartening is how many people will just assume this went down because he was voicing an anti-Obama point of view.

Obama literally got on the phone and ordered those security guards to intervene - What Tea Baggers actually believe after watching that video.

I suspect it wasn't even as much that it was an anti-Obama sign but rather one advertising a private group and directing traffic to a website. Doing such things on private property, where others have paid for the right for such advertising, will often result in being asked to leave.

For how he was behaving, he was pretty much being handled with kid gloves. Now if he had been tackled to the ground (instead of going down after wrapping his legs and clinging to the security guard's leg), and placed in a choke hold UFC / Forever21 style, maybe you could say he was "brutally assaulted" by security.

Had he talked to the head of security at the onset, instead of shouting back at the top of his lungs, this probably would have been a total non-issue. Instead the guy got the attention he wanted and will probably get the fine he deserves.

Before making a judgment about this video I decided to watch it again and pretend the guy had an "Impeach Bush" sign.

You would then need to reverse the roll of the posters here - the left would be defending his free speech and the right would be bashing him for being a loon.

Ridiculous. You don't have free speech on private property and it's not against the law to be crazy.

Nah, they just slowly forced him to the ground and forced his face into the dirt. Hard to feel too much sympathy with him, he was carrying a sign that must be eight feet across and screaming at the rent-a-cops. Typical LaRouche crazy. I have no idea if his civil rights were infringed though, I think you'd need a lawyer, the exact legal description of the property and the event, and more of the film to know.
