Largest possible HD size - win98se?

I remember that after fat32 was released MS bragged you could technically have a HD of up 2 terrabytes. Now I hear the max is around 120 gb !! What gives?

Someone was talking about a 120 gigger the other day but the most I have seen was a 80 gig. I'd imagine that 120 gig is expensive out the ass.

There is no win98 limit. FAT32 is "limited" to 2TB and standard IDE is limited to 128GB/drive, you can have RAID partitions with IDE larger than that. If you get a Maxtor ATA133 controller card the IDE limit is pushed into the petabytes I think. I don't think SCSI has any limitation on size except what the filesystem can handle. WD makes a 7200RPM 120GB, that was recently going for as low as $150 after $100 mail in rebate. Maxtor makes a 5400RPM 160GB and Seagate has had a 7200RPM 180GB SCSI drive for over a year.
