So when he gets out in seven years, will he stay in Canada? Will he survive in prison? I can imagine low life expectancy for terrorists in US prisons. The guards will probably look the other way.

I don't mind if they release him since they'll probably stop just short of implanting a GPS chip into his ass. No intelligent would-be terrorist is going to go anywhere near the guy, knowing that CSIS and the RCMP are going to be all over him for the foreseeable future.
