Large files will not trasfer over wireless network

I currently have three desktops hooked up to a wireless network through a Linksys WRT54GS. I'm trying to transfer large files between the two computers not physically hooked up to the router, but everytime I try, one of the computers drops the network and interrupts the trasfer. The same thing happens when I try to push the files from the host computer or pull the files from the receiving computer. I have no idea what the culprit could be. Not sure if it matters, but the host computer is running Windows XP and the receiving computer is running Windows 7.

Entry Level Wireless was Not designed for such purposes.

Wire those computers that lend them self easily to be wired, and get yourself a large SATA drive in an Enclosure, and use it to transfer lager Files.

Thank you for the response. I have a SATA drive in an enclosure for backup purposes but was avoiding having to move it back and forth between the two computers. I hate to sound like one of those people, but I've been able to transfer files (average 1 to 2 gigs per transfer) flawlessly before between the two computers and I can't figure out what has changed and why it keeps dropping the connection now.

Edit - Forgot to mention that it's having the same problem trying to upload files to a host. Again, I've never had these problems before and now the network keeps dropping after a couple of minutes uploading.

Probably noise. Also if you are doing large file transfers, then the router won't handle it since it will probably overload.

I had a WT54g and it overloaded when doing large 2gb transfers over the LAN. They fixed it with a firmware update. Try different channels or new firmware. If not the best would be like jack said to do a cat5e or 6 wire run.

try running tomato, i have a WRT54GL and it handles large file transfers to or from my wireless laptop fine, even 6-8GB dual layer DVD images work fine.

try using NFS over UDP ; it is extremely resilient as long as its not windows based version.

unix to unix you could unplug the ethernet cable and come back in an hour and nfs over udp would continue to rock on.
