I have heard that after awhile thigs start going wonky with big drives and ata-100. If there is a fix (aka a patch) could you refresh my memory? Thanks.

I haven't ever heard that but what I do is run Norton sys works 2001 disk doctor every week along with windows fix and a speed disk every 3 weeks. That should keep you on the ball and your hardrive shouldn't screw up if you maintain it welll.. Later

Yes. Data corruption that affects fast ATA66 and ATA100 drives with large buffers (2MB) on fast systems running Win98SE and WinME. The way I understood is that these systems shut down too fast for the buffer's content to be written to the disk before power goes off which may lead to corruptions. MS released a patch but to vendors only. Someone posted that Micron had the patch on their web site. Check Micron's site.
