large capacity seagate drives

Was talking with a friend at work who had 80 gb seagate drives like me and liked how they were so quite.
But he was explaining to me his new comp had a 160 gb seagate in it and was kinda noisy so he replaced it with a 200 gb Seagate and says its noisy also.
I have 4 -80 gb drives so didn't know what to tell him, are these larger drives noisier or is something else going on?

You cold probably use a program to engage acoustic management but kiss your seek times goodbye. Some cases isolate the drive frame from the chassis with grommeted screws. These cut noise down by a good bit.

Larger models use more platters which is the most significant factor in noise after spindle speed, then motor type and bearing type.
